gpsbabel oltre a scaricare dati da dispositivi gps, fare upload e altre magiche acrobazie, effettua la conversione tra tipi di dati memorizzati in un file GPX.
Per convertire rotte (route=rte) in tracce (track=trk) dare il seguente comando:
$ gpsbabel -i gpx -f nome_file_gpx.gpx -x transform,trk=rte -o gpx -F nome_gpx_finale.gpx
